Caritas Microfinance Bank is seeking a Credit Administration Manager to oversee the credit administration function. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure efficient loan processing, proper documentation, and compliance with credit policies while monitoring the loan portfolio to minimize risk and support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulation: Ensure compliance with CBK and Microfinance Act regulatory requirements and other relevant regulations.
Portfolio Management: Maintain strong portfolio quality and control of the credit book, providing credit support to branches.
Risk Management: Monitor credit performance using credit scoring and appraisal reports, and track customer credit ratings with credit reference agencies.
Credit Administration: Set credit terms and ensure timely repayment by customers.
Loan Disbursement: Oversee loan disbursement according to approved terms, ensuring accurate calculation of balances, commissions, and interest.
Reporting: Prepare IFRS 9 reports, ISAS39 reports, and other management/periodic returns for the Central Bank of Kenya and credit reference bureaus.
Database Management: Manage the department's database and listing of all received loans.
Income Collection: Ensure all income is collected as per the approved lending terms.
Monitoring: Track newly approved credit facilities and provide oversight on normal and watch accounts, coordinating with branch managers for remedial actions.
Leadership: Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to drive performance management and employee development.
Policy & Process Improvement: Oversee credit processes to minimize lending risks, champion a culture of compliance, and drive automation of loan appraisal processes.
Collateral Management: Ensure proper securities perfection, registration, and maintain an up-to-date register for all securities (valuations/insurances).
System Enhancement: Improve digital loan platforms and loan management systems.
Requirements and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in BCOM or a business-related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
Professional Certification: Professional qualifications such as CPA, CCP, or CIFA.
Experience: Not less than 5 years in credit administration with extensive knowledge of lending products and prudential guidelines.
Skills: Strong leadership, debt management, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and negotiation skills.
Attributes: Self-driven and results-oriented.
