Job Description
The role of Coxswain II - Seaman (Tug Mate) is crucial for the efficient provision of Harbour crafts services within the Kenya Ports Authority. This position involves supporting the Coxswain in day-to-day operations, managing critical tasks like bunkering, and ensuring compliance with all maritime statutes and schedules in collaboration with the marine engineering teams.
Remuneration (Kshs.)
The compensation package for this role includes the following components:
Assist the Coxswain and ensure efficient provision of Harbour crafts services as set in individual performance targets.
Undertake bunkering operations for Harbour crafts and ensure bunkering procedures are strictly adhered to.
Ensure all statutory plans and schedules for Harbour craft are maintained in liaison with the Marine Engineering department.
Person Specifications (Qualifications and Experience)
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Must possess a KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent qualification.
Must have three (3) years' experience as Sailor I or in a relevant field.
Must be a holder of Coxswain II craft/Master Class 3 certification.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya concerning leadership and integrity.
