Corporate Communications Officer I

The Corporate Communications Officer I role is based within the Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC), a State Corporation operating under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives, established by the Warehouse Receipt System Act No. 8 of 2019. The primary objective of this position is to implement the Council's corporate communications strategies, promote its image, and manage external relations, ensuring high visibility and public understanding of its mandate.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Implementing policies, procedures, frameworks, strategies, plans, legislations, standards and regulations on corporate communications.
• Promoting the corporate image of the Council.
• Identifying and implementing branding, awareness and social responsibility activities to enhance visibility of the Council.
• Uploading events and information on the Council’s website.
• Monitoring and managing media coverage and submitting media reports.
• Organizing the Council’s public job specifications and corporate events.
• Editing, designing and distributing Information, Education, Communication (IEC) including merchandise and promotional materials.

Person Specifications

Mandatory requirements for this position include:

• Experience: Served in the grade of Communications Officer II for a minimum period of three (3) years.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Arts or equivalent qualification.
• Skills: Proficiency in Computer applications.
• Performance: Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
