The role of Corporate Communication Officer II at Bandari Maritime Academy focuses on strategic communication, marketing, and public relations to enhance the Academy's visibility and manage its corporate image. This position requires developing and executing communications strategies, managing media relations, coordinating public events, and creating various communication materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and implement communications strategies to support the Academy’s objectives related to communications and marketing.
- Develop and implement corporate communications and marketing plans to enhance the visibility of the Academy.
- Manage the corporate image of the Academy.
- Handle media management across electronic, print, and social platforms.
- Coordinate the Academy’s public functions and communication and marketing activities.
- Facilitate the development of information, education, communication (IEC) materials and marketing materials.
- Implement the Academy’s corporate social responsibility function.
- Coordinate corporate functions and manage the public relations and marketing activities and events.
- Manage the Academy's relationship with the media for prompt and accurate coverage of events.
- Edit, review, and provide support in the design, production, and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, speeches, publications, website contents, reports, outreach materials, and audio/video production.
- Handle crisis management responses in line with the Academy’s corporate and marketing guidelines.
- Undertake Customer Service Management by initiating staff sensitization programs.
- Ensure development and implementation of corporate communication plans to enhance the visibility of the Academy.
- Coordinate management of the corporate image of the Academy.
Person Specifications (Qualifications and Attributes)
To be appointed to this grade, an Officer must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Hold a Degree in any of the following disciplines: Communication Studies; Mass Communication; Journalism, Public Relations; Information Science, International Relations, Social Sciences or any other approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Professional Competence: Demonstrate professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Skills: Possess computer application skills.
- Attributes: Must exhibit high integrity, be motivated, and be a team player.
