Job Description
The Open University of Kenya (OUK) aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to pursue higher education.
This position is for a Content Developer / Lecturer specializing in Agriculture and Food Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality, comprehensive educational content for online and distance delivery within the university's academic framework. This involves designing curriculum, developing teaching materials, and structuring learning resources appropriate for flexible and technologically mediated educational environments.
Requirements for Content Developers / Lecturers
Candidates must satisfy one of the following qualification criteria in the relevant field of Agriculture and Food Systems:
Primary Requirement: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification from an accredited University.
Alternative Requirement (Special Cases): A Master’s degree from an accredited University, provided the candidate meets additional criteria:
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
Registration in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
