Job Summary
The Content & Editorial Manager will provide visionary, spiritual, and strategic leadership over all content across broadcast and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization’s Christ-centered mission. The role drives an integrated, digital-first content strategy that enhances audience engagement, strengthens brand identity, and delivers both ministry impact and commercial value.
The position reports to the Head of Media.
Key Responsibilities
- Spiritual Leadership: Provide Christ-centered leadership by modeling integrity, spiritual discipline, and active participation in ministry initiatives.
- Content Strategy: Develop and execute a holistic, digital-first content strategy that integrates ministry objectives with audience growth and commercial outcomes.
- Editorial Standards: Establish and enforce editorial standards, content policies, and SOPs to ensure theological accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Process Management: Oversee the end-to-end content process from ideation to distribution, ensuring consistency, relevance, and excellence across all platforms.
- Brand Safeguarding: Safeguard brand identity by ensuring all content aligns with organizational tone, visual standards, and audience expectations.
- Audience Expansion: Drive audience expansion and engagement through data-driven insights, innovative formats, and strategic content initiatives.
- Innovation & Research: Champion research, emerging trends, and new storytelling approaches to enhance content relevance, competitiveness, and impact.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead high-performing teams through mentorship, collaboration, and continuous professional and spiritual development.
- Collaboration & Partnerships: Collaborate with technical, commercial, and ministry teams while exploring strategic partnerships that enhance content reach and value.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor KPIs, ensure compliance with standards and regulations, manage budgets effectively, and drive continuous improvement through data and reporting.
Requirements
- Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, Journalism, Media Studies; a Master’s degree in communication or related fields is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Business acumen: a strong understanding of the media industry and business goals, with a focus on audience engagement and revenue.
- Deep understanding of content strategy, digital storytelling, audience analytics, and media production workflows.
- Proven ability to lead, build, and develop high-performing, multidisciplinary content teams within a dynamic, fast-evolving media ecosystem.
- Demonstrated commitment to redemptive journalism and storytelling, with the ability to craft and oversee content that reflects biblical truth, offers hope, shapes culture, and drives meaningful spiritual and societal impact.
- Strong grasp of Christian doctrine, ministry communication, and cultural sensitivity.
- Exceptional leadership, editorial judgment, and communication skills.
- Proficient in digital content management systems (CMS), social analytics, and broadcast planning tools.
