The role of the Community Outreach Officer is centered on driving the growth of CIC Microinsurance within assigned regions and sectors. This is achieved through generating new business, engaging both communities and institutions, and actively promoting Microinsurance products. Key activities include lead generation, relationship management, client education, and collaborative efforts with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery. The compensation structure includes an attractive performance-based incentive and override commissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and recruit new clients and intermediaries (such as cooperatives, MFIs, registered groups, and bancassurance partners), reactivate dormant accounts, and expand CIC’s outreach channels.
- Client & Partner Engagement: Conduct community sensitization, product presentations, and comprehensive trainings for clients and intermediaries to boost awareness and product uptake.
- Sales Support & Administration: Prepare proposals and quotations, diligently follow up on leads, accurately track sales pipelines, and collaborate effectively with underwriting and customer service teams to guarantee smooth client onboarding.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and share valuable insights regarding current market trends, specific customer needs, and competitor activities to actively support continuous product improvement efforts.
- Target Achievement: Consistently achieve both individual and team sales targets while steadfastly upholding CIC’s brand values, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and maintaining policy persistency.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a Diploma in a business-related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
- Professional qualifications in Insurance (COP/ECOP/Diploma in Insurance – AIIK/CII/LOMA) are an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience in community engagement, sales, or field mobilization will be an advantage.
- Age: 25 years and above.
