The Community Outreach Officer role at CIC Insurance Group Limited is pivotal in driving the growth of CIC Microinsurance. This individual is tasked with generating new business, actively engaging communities and institutions, and promoting Microinsurance products within assigned regions and sectors in Eldoret. The position emphasizes lead generation, strategic relationship management, client education, and ensuring efficient service delivery in collaboration with internal teams.
This role offers an attractive performance-based incentive and override commissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and recruit new clients and intermediaries (cooperatives, MFIs, registered groups, and bancassurance partners). This includes reactivating dormant accounts and expanding CIC’s outreach channels.
- Client & Partner Engagement: Conduct community sensitization sessions, product presentations, and training for clients and intermediaries to significantly drive awareness and product uptake.
- Sales Support & Administration: Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations, diligently follow up on sales leads, track sales pipelines, and collaborate effectively with underwriting and customer service teams to ensure seamless client onboarding.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and share actionable insights on current market trends, evolving customer needs, and competitor activities to support continuous product improvement efforts within CIC Microinsurance.
- Target Achievement: Consistently achieve predetermined individual and team sales targets while rigorously upholding CIC’s core brand values, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and ensuring policy persistency.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Minimum Education: Minimum of a Diploma in a business-related field.
- Desired Education: A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
- Professional Certification (Advantageous): Professional qualifications in Insurance (COP/ECOP/Diploma in Insurance – AIIK/CII/LOMA) are an added advantage.
- Experience (Advantageous): Proven prior experience in community engagement, sales, or field mobilization.
- Age Requirement: 25 years and above.
- Core Skills: Demonstrated excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities are essential.
