This role is a temporary, full-time assignment for 3 months, based in Nairobi with approximately 30% travel to field locations. The primary function is to provide specialized technical support in videography, photography, and graphic design to the Communications team at World Vision Kenya.
PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The purpose of this assignment is to enable the Communications team to:
- Deliver pending video projects for programs and donor reporting.
- Produce high-quality multimedia content for organizational events and launches.
- Document program impact across field locations.
- Develop branded materials for stakeholder engagement.
- Support public engagement initiatives and campaigns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Videography & Video Editing
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality videos for program documentation and donor reporting.
- Produce video content for organizational events and campaigns.
- Conduct field documentation in program areas as required.
- Edit raw footage into compelling stories that align with WVK's brand guidelines.
- Ensure proper captioning, sound quality, and visual consistency.
- Manage video assets and maintain organized digital files.
2. Photography
- Capture high-quality photographs during field visits, events, and documentation activities.
- Provide photography support for the strategy launch and other organizational events.
- Document program activities, beneficiary stories, and partner engagements.
- Ensure photographs meet technical standards and brand requirements.
- Maintain organized photo libraries with proper metadata.
3. Graphic Design
- Design materials for stakeholder engagement including:
- Capacity statements
- Strategy documents and summaries
- Annual reports
- Presentation templates
- Social media graphics
- Infographics and data visualizations
- Ensure all designs align with World Vision Kenya brand guidelines.
- Develop templates for recurring communication materials.
- Create print-ready files and digital assets as required.
- Work closely with content developers to visualize complex information.
4. General Communications Support
- Collaborate with the Communications team to understand content requirements.
- Participate in creative planning sessions for campaigns and events.
- Provide technical input on multimedia content strategy.
- Ensure timely delivery of all assigned projects.
- Maintain quality standards across all outputs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Multimedia, Film Production, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in videography, photography, and graphic design.
- Portfolio demonstrating quality work in all three areas is mandatory.
- Experience working with NGOs or development organizations is preferred.
- Previous work on donor-facing content is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
- Expertise in photo editing (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
- Strong graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Canva).
- Knowledge of motion graphics is an advantage.
- Understanding of brand guidelines and visual identity systems.
