The Communication, Fundraising and Marketing Officer will support Fondazione L’Albero Della Vita (The Tree of Life) in enhancing institutional visibility, project communication, and resource mobilization strategies. The role will focus specifically on the WINGS project (Work Inclusion, Growth and Sustainability for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in Kenya) and other organizational initiatives related to child protection, socio-economic inclusion, and community development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication
- Develop and implement communication plans for the organization and its projects, including WINGS.
- Produce content for social media, newsletters, website, brochures, reports, and visibility materials.
- Document project activities through stories, interviews, photos, and videos, ensuring full compliance with child safeguarding policies.
- Manage the organization’s digital channels and monitor engagement metrics.
- Ensure compliance with donor visibility guidelines, especially those of AICS.
- Prepare narrative reports, case studies, and promotional materials for events, workshops, missions, and institutional visits.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international media.
Fundraising
- Identify funding opportunities from institutional donors (e.g., UN agencies, GIZ, European Union, Embassies, etc.), foundations (e.g., Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Aga Khan Foundation, Mastercard Foundation, Safaricom Foundation, etc.), private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
- Support the drafting of concept notes and full project proposals in collaboration with program teams.
- Maintain and nourish relationships with donors and prepare dedicated communication and reporting materials.
- Design and implement local and digital fundraising campaigns, including private-sector engagement strategies.
Marketing
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the organization’s assets and services, with a focus on revenue generation.
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing organizational assets (platforms, digital tools, products, services) for income-generating activities.
- Coordinate promotional campaigns and events to attract new users, clients, or partners.
- Monitor performance of marketing initiatives, analyzing data to optimize strategies and maximize revenue.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing & fundraising, Business management or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in communication, advocacy, or fundraising within NGOs, development cooperation, or the private sector.
- Knowledge of crowdfunding websites and platforms.
- Experience in photography or basic video editing to support content creation.
- Demonstrated experience in digital communication, storytelling, and multimedia content production.
- Proficiency with social media (E.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok etc.).
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media management, and basic graphic design.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite and graphic contents applications (e.g. Canva).
- Ability to prepare donor-compliant visibility and communication materials.
