About the Role
Meliore Foundation is seeking a Coalition Programme Manager to oversee the strategic and operational leadership of a global coalition. Meliore Foundation works to put just, inclusive, and equitable solutions to global issues at the core of political, social, environmental, and economic discourse. This role is central to driving participation in coalition workstreams, developing shared priorities, and implementing strategic campaigns to undermine the social license and political influence of climate-intensive industries.
Key Responsibilities
Coalition Management
Oversee the day-to-day operation of a global coalition.
Drive participation in workstreams by ensuring topics are timely, relevant, and actionable for members.
Attend monthly workstream meetings and work with coordinators to develop agendas and recruit speakers.
Convene regular all-hands coalition meetings, promoting a diversity of voices and viewpoints.
Identify and coordinate cross-workstream collaborations to drive toward coalition goals.
Track and seize campaign opportunities based on industry inflection points, international momentum, and policy opportunities.
Develop shared coalition priorities and translate them into action plans, agendas, and timelines.
Identify, recruit, and onboard new coalition members, including orientation and communications.
Provide on-site logistical and administrative support for coalition meetings and convenings as needed.
Strategy Development
Develop and regularly update a shared strategy for the coalition in coordination with the steering committee.
Coordinate with members to implement strategic campaigns targeting climate-intensive industries.
Garner coalition buy-in and build alignment behind shared strategy and aims.
Identify and explore areas for geographic and intervention expansion based on field appetite and funding.
Participate in the design, implementation, and adaptation of grantmaking strategies.
Identify prospective grant recipients and work with them to develop proposals.
Make recommendations on funding distribution based on resources and coalition priorities.
Member Engagement
Build strong partnerships with members by understanding their work, needs, and local jurisdiction requirements.
Serve as a key point of contact for grant management needs and creative problem-solving.
Fundraising
Develop and distribute quarterly updates on coalition activities and achievements to members and funders.
Build and maintain a pipeline of potential funders.
Represent the coalition to funders at relevant events and develop necessary materials with the fundraising team.
Organizational Collaboration and Development
Provide regular updates on the coalition to Meliore staff and identify areas for internal collaboration.
Oversee program finances and ensure efficient allocation of funds.
Pursue professional development and participate in foundation-wide training.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience managing programs in the nonprofit, philanthropic, and/or coalition sectors.
Experience in campaigns, strategic communications, and project management.
Proven experience in designing influence campaigns in coordination with external partners, with a deep understanding of the environmental landscape.
Experience in developing communication strategies.
Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to coordinate and manage complex stakeholder relationships with competing agendas.
High-level organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to think laterally.
Strong time and priority management, independence, and a "can-do" mentality.
Ability to build trust with colleagues and partners.
Ability to develop and track annual budgets and expenditures.
