The Chief of Staff role at PesaLink is centered on providing high-level support and coordination to the CEO, ensuring the execution of strategic priorities across the organization. PesaLink is a crucial platform enabling real-time transfer of funds for customers at participating banks, facilitating immediate value and same-day settlement capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Coordinate and drive the execution of the CEO’s strategic priorities across the organisation.
- Track organisational performance against strategic objectives and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Lead strategic planning processes and ensure alignment between corporate strategy and departmental plans.
Business Growth & Partnerships
- Identify, scope, and support the execution of strategic partnership opportunities with banks, fintechs, regulators, and ecosystem players.
- Evaluate and coordinate the implementation of new business opportunities, product growth initiatives, and market expansion strategies.
- Support commercial negotiations and relationship management with senior counterparts.
Executive Support & Decision Enablement
- Prepare strategic briefs, board papers, executive reports, and CEO communications.
- Coordinate board-level engagements, ensuring timely preparation and follow-through of decisions.
- Facilitate leadership meetings, strategic meetings, quarterly business reviews, performance reporting routines and ensure alignment on priorities.
- Lead or coordinate special and operational projects critical across departments as delegated by the CEO.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Coordination
- Work across departments to resolve operational bottlenecks that hinder strategic delivery.
- Improve internal collaboration, communication flows, and organisational accountability rhythm.
- Serve as a bridge between executive leadership and the broader organisation to ensure clarity of direction and execution discipline.
Experience & Skills Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND). A Master’s degree (MBA/MSc/MA) is an added advantage.
Experience
- At least 12 years’ experience in strategy, business development, finance, consulting, project management, or senior coordination roles.
- Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, or technology-led industries is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and work closely with C-suite leaders.
