Chief Engineer (Engineering/Maintenance)

Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage daily engineering and maintenance activities for the entire facility.
• System Maintenance: Ensure systems like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety are functioning optimally.
• Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute structured preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and building infrastructure.
• Emergency Response: Provide rapid response to emergency repairs to minimize downtime and operational impact.
• Staff Management: Supervise, train, and assess the performance of maintenance personnel, assigning daily tasks and ensuring safety compliance.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage the department budget, tracking utility and repair costs.
• Vendor Management: Source and negotiate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
• Compliance: Maintain full adherence to local building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
• Documentation & Projects: Conduct routine inspections, keep accurate maintenance logs, and oversee facility renovation or upgrade projects.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Technical Experience: 5-8 years of experience in engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Systems Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, generators, and fire safety systems.
• Industry Background: Previous experience in the lodge, resort, or hospitality industry is considered a significant advantage.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
