The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a part-time constitutional commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution. JSC is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Tribunal. This is a crucial role involving the leadership and adjudication of disputes within the energy and petroleum sector.
Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
- A qualification (BA/BSc/HND) enabling one to serve as a distinguished academic or legal practitioner.
- Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experience as a distinguished academic, or legal practitioner, or such experience in other relevant legal field.
- Have held the required academic and professional qualifications for a period amounting, in the aggregate, to ten (10) years, irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or in another Commonwealth Common-Law jurisdiction.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience specifically in energy and petroleum matters.
