The Business Processing Officer at Old Mutual Kenya contributes to the effective oversight and execution of the company’s business processing operations by ensuring that all activities align with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role involves comprehensive management of insurance documentation, premium processing, and coordination with various internal departments to ensure seamless operational delivery and excellence in customer service.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Insurance Documentation: Ensure the completeness of insurance documentation (KYC), including accurate details in proposal forms, fully filled Group application forms, COI, CR12, PIN Certificates, and checklists.
Premiums Processing: Manage premiums processing for schemes in the system as per provided quotes, ensuring they tally with manual invoices shared with clients.
Underwriting Support: Process underwriting documentation and ensure that all introduced schemes have been reviewed and approved by the underwriter.
Query Resolution: Respond to inter-departmental queries and complaints in a timely manner.
Credit Control: Support the credit control team in adhering to their policies and procedures.
Membership Management: Manage deletions, additions, member lists, and deactivation letters, ensuring instructions are received from the authorized scheme contact person.
Medical Cards: Handle the preparation, activation, and deactivation of virtual medical cards.
Scheme Set-up: Facilitate new medical scheme set-ups by ensuring receipt of member lists, underwriting summaries, and instructions to proceed with onboarding.
Customer Complaint Management: Resolve customer complaints, issues, or concerns in a prompt and professional manner, escalating where necessary to relevant departments for closure.
Tracking and Reporting: Maintain and update the renewal tracker and card tracker, and ensure all documents are uploaded to SharePoint.
Customer Service: Provide excellent and prompt customer service to maintain a positive reputation for the business.

Qualifications and Experience
A degree in insurance or a business-related field.
Professional insurance qualifications (CII or IIK) or demonstrating good progress toward completion.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
