Jumbo Chem (K) Ltd is an indigenous Kenyan manufacturing company specializing in the production of high-quality insulation products for the construction industry, as well as packaging material, essential for the protection of goods in transit and storage. The company aims to develop and produce exceptional products to meet exact requirements. The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities for the company. This role specifically involves seeking new business by contacting and developing relationships with key specifiers in the construction sector, such as Architects, Quantity Surveyors, and Engineers.
Job Role
To identify and develop business opportunities for the company. The role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with specifiers (Architects, Quantity surveyors, Engineers, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify leads generated from marketing campaigns as viable sales opportunities.
- Proactively contact potential specifiers through scheduled visits, phone calls, and emails.
- Present our company and products to potential clients (architects, surveyors, engineers, etc.).
- Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services.
- Build long-term trusting relationships with specifiers.
- Coordinate and set up meetings or calls between prospective clients and Account Executives.
- Report to the Business Development Manager on sales results (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services and updated pricing/payment plans.
Qualifications & Skills
Education and Technical Skills
- BSc degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a relevant field.
- Familiarity with MS Excel (specifically for analyzing spreadsheets and charts).
Experience and Performance
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role.
- Must have experience in the construction industry, specifically working with specifiers.
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques.
- Track record of achieving sales quotas.
- Good understanding of sales performance metrics.
Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to deliver compelling and engaging presentations.
