The Business Controller at Safal Group is a critical role responsible for overseeing financial integrity and operational efficiency across the company's service centers and manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on lead stock control, financial reporting, performance management, and debtors oversight to support the group's strategic objectives.
Key Performance Areas
Stock Control
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end stock take planning and validation of variances.
Recommend stock adjustments, downgrades, and improvements to holding practices.
Prepare Product Identification (PID) postings and monthly PID summary reports for the Board pack.
Sales & Debtors Control
Ensure zero unapproved credit sales across all Service Centers.
Review and approve mechanisms for credit sales in accordance with group policy.
Follow up on aged unallocated credits, project debts, and unresolved account balances.
Reporting & Performance Management
Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports.
Challenge Service Center managers and coordinators on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) performance.
Act as the internal expert for SAP and Service Center reporting systems.
Petty Cash & Logistics Oversight
Review Service Center petty cash reports and enhance reimbursement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assess logistics efficiency between manufacturing plants and service centers.
Validate all stock transfers and ensure absolute record accuracy.
Requirements
Education and Certifications
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance or Accounting.
An MBA will be considered an added advantage.
Professional certifications such as CPA(K), ACCA, CFA, or CA are highly desirable.
Must be a registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Experience
8–12 years of total professional experience.
At least 8 years in a similar Business Controller or Senior Finance role.
Prior experience in the manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
