The Boiler Shift in Charge is responsible for supervising the safe and efficient operation of boilers, generators, and auxiliary equipment during assigned shifts at MSVL Group. This position involves leading boiler operators, coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring steam and power generation, and ensuring full compliance with statutory inspections and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise safe and efficient operation of boilers, generators, and auxiliary equipment during assigned shift.
Lead and supervise boiler operators and coordinate shift activities.
Monitor steam and power generation, unit start-ups, and shutdowns.
Troubleshoot plant operating problems affecting safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Coordinate maintenance with engineering and technical teams.
Ensure statutory inspections, safety compliance, and accurate operational records.
Manage fuel/biomass stocks, feed hoppers, and boiler performance.
Prepare daily shift reports and support operator training and performance management.
Respond to emergencies and oversee planned/unplanned maintenance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) or related field.
5-10 years' experience in boiler/cogeneration or utility plant operations.
Experience supervising boiler operators and shift operations.
Knowledge of boiler maintenance, steam generation, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
Experience with safety standards, statutory inspections, and maintenance planning.
Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Windows/MS Office is an added advantage.
