Boarding Parent

The School of St Jude is seeking qualified and passionate Boarding Parents (Male and Female) to supervise and manage student welfare and discipline within the boarding environment at Smith Campus. This role is dedicated to making a difference in students’ lives by guiding, mentoring, and supporting them to reach their full potential.

Role Responsibilities

The Boarding Parent is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of all students. Key duties include:

• Guiding and supervising students at all times, ensuring they follow rules, routines, and study schedules.
• Promoting and organizing extracurricular activities, fostering a positive, family-like atmosphere in the boarding house.
• Ensuring students are neat, punctual, respectful, and well-prepared for all school activities.
• Upholding safety, security, and child protection procedures, reporting and following up on any issues promptly.
• Actively participating in meetings and trainings to improve skills and contribute to the boarding team.
• Serving as a good role model by demonstrating discipline, commitment, and care towards all students.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are responsible and caring boarding staff who possess the following attributes:

• Empathy for children’s needs and feelings.
• High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
• Willingness to work overnight.
• Ability to adapt to school policies and procedures (including weekends when required).
• A mature person, preferably 35 years or older, capable of providing parental care to teenagers.
