This role is for a Biochemical Engineering Intern to join the team for a fixed three-month internship program based in Nairobi. The internship aims to provide successful candidates with professional experience and exposure.
Internship Program Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Only students currently in their 3rd or final year of study can apply.
- Candidates must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a public or accredited private academic institution.
- You must plan to continue your education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation.
- You must be on break/holiday from school during the internship period.
- Note: Candidates who finished their education and have spent over a year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration. Applications will automatically be declined.
Required Skills and Attributes
A successful intern should possess the following qualities:
- A desire to gain professional experience and be exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities.
- Strong listening skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand instructions and not being afraid to ask questions, ensuring a productive internship.
- Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Very articulate with fluent English.
- Patient, with high attention to detail, a fast learner, and committed.
- Able to understand directions and work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Keen to learn about the markets and also demonstrate pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.
- A dedication to completing the full 3 months internship program.
Mandatory Requirements (Documentation Checklist)
Successful candidates will be required to provide the following documentation:
- Letter from your institution indicating you are a student there and/or require internship as part of the requirement for course completion.
- Personal Accident insurance cover for the duration of the internship.
- Bank account details.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
- NSSF and SHA numbers.
Critical Internship Details
- The internship is for a fixed period of three months without extension.
- You will be required to complete an online test as soon as the application process is closed to progress through the recruitment process.
