The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) is a professional body for certified public accountants (CPAs) in Kenya, and a full member of the International Federation of Accountants and the Pan African Federation of Accounting. ICPAK is seeking an Audit Manager to lead the planning, execution, and completion of various audit engagements. The role involves supervising audit teams, ensuring compliance with professional standards, engaging clients professionally, and contributing to the development of audit staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and completion of statutory, donor-funded, and special audits.
- Supervise audit teams and ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Review working papers, draft audit reports, and management letters.
- Engage clients professionally and present audit findings to management and boards.
- Mentor and develop audit staff while upholding firm quality standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- CPA (K) qualification – Mandatory.
- Audit Practicing Certificate (or eligibility to obtain) – Added advantage.
- Membership in ICPAK in good standing.
Experience
- Minimum 6–8 years’ audit experience, with at least 3 years at supervisory or managerial level.
- Proven experience auditing NGOs, donor-funded projects, SMEs, corporates, schools, churches, Saccos, and pension schemes.
- Strong exposure to ISA, IFRS, IPSAS, and donor compliance frameworks.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple engagements concurrently.
