The Audiovisual Editor and Videographer is responsible for planning, filming, editing, and producing high-quality audio-visual content that enhances the organization’s communication, storytelling, and brand visibility. This role ensures the professional production of videos, photography, and multimedia materials supporting marketing, corporate communication, and digital engagement objectives. Success in this role requires a strong creative and technical skill set, professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Production
- Plan and set up video shoots, including conducting interviews and capturing footage and photography using DSLRs and camcorders.
- Manage in-house lighting setup for all video shoots and studio productions.
- Operate and maintain video and audio equipment, both in-studio and on location.
- Set up XLR cables for indoor and outdoor shooting.
- Ensure high-quality audio, video recording, and photography during shoots.
Editing & Postproduction
- Edit features, documentaries, and social media content (video and audio).
- Perform video and audio conversion for various platforms including YouTube, TV, and social media.
- Execute video editing tasks, including cutting, sequencing, colour correction, audio synchronization, and managing other visual aspects of the footage.
- Create and edit photo slideshows for presentations, events, and digital content.
Collaboration and Audio-visual Management
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams and other stakeholders to develop concepts and ensure the final output meets requirements.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Organize and manage the in-house audiovisual inventory and project files.
- Ensure proper handling of audiovisual and photography materials, equipment, and accessories.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all video content and photography aligns with brand guidelines and brand voice.
- Produce final content according to technical specifications for various platforms (e.g., social media, web, or broadcast).
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in video production, editing, and photography.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Media and Film, or equivalent.
- At least six years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in video editing using Final Cut Pro and effect tools.
- A strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Knowledge in shooting free hand and on stand.
- Ability to work on an edit from start to finish (recording, scripting, editing, subtitling).
- Ability to subtitle videos.
- Ability to translate a video script into a feature or documentary.
- Ability to lay a voice over into a video edit.
- Able to travel within and outside the country.
