Associate Professor - Nursing (Oncology)

The University of Embu seeks a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Associate Professor (Grade 14) in Nursing, specializing in Oncology. This is a senior academic and research leadership role focused on driving excellence in teaching, advanced research, and postgraduate mentorship within the relevant field.

Key Qualifications and Professional Requirements

Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty. Successful candidates must also meet the following stringent criteria, demonstrating a significant track record in university academia:

• Teaching Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of university teaching experience, with at least three (3) of those years served as a full-time Senior Lecturer.
• Scholarly Publications: Must have accumulated at least forty-eight (48) publication points since being appointed Senior Lecturer. Crucially, thirty-two (32) of these points must be derived from articles published in refereed scholarly journals.
• Postgraduate Supervision: Proven success in supervision, having successfully supervised to completion a minimum of five (5) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
• Research Funding: Must show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) competitive research grants since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
• Academic Contribution: Provide evidence of consistent attendance and active contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Institutional Leadership: Demonstrate active participation and/or leadership in various university activities and committees.
• Research Continuity: Show clear evidence of ongoing and continued research productivity.
