Associate Professor - Actuarial Science

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR – GRADE 14 (Actuarial Science)

This role is for an Associate Professor, Grade 14, in Actuarial Science at the University of Embu. The position is senior-level, requiring substantial academic experience, a strong record of research output, postgraduate student supervision, and active participation in academic leadership and university activities. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to teaching, research, and service within the University.

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty. In addition, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Have at least eight (8) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must have been as a full-time Senior Lecturer.
• Possess at least forty-eight (48) publication points, thirty-two (32) of which must be derived from articles published in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
• Have successfully supervised to completion at least five (5) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
• Demonstrate evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
• Show evidence of attendance and substantive contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Show evidence of active participation and leadership in university activities.
• Show evidence of continued research engagement.
