The Associate Cloud Technical Architect role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
- Acts as a trusted technical advisor to the client and ensure technical solutions will accomplish the client's objectives.
- Designs and architects less complex cloud-based systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Provides pre-sales technical support and know-how in analyzing client requirements, in conjunction with the client’s current collaboration capabilities.
- Assesses existing systems and develops migration strategies to transition on-premises applications and infrastructure to the cloud.
- Designs integration solutions to enable seamless data flow between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Defines and implements security best practices and compliance standards for cloud-based systems.
- Supports the development and maintenance of cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Provides support to development teams to ensure adherence to cloud architecture standards and best practices.
- Develops or produces the technical design document to match the solution design specifications.
- Participates in scope of work determination, product pricing, and RFP/RFI responses working with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Influences and guides members of the Sales team to ensure they are equipped to close deals and maintain visibility of forecasting and sales pipeline.
- Manages client proof of concept (POC) initiatives, including setup and delivery.
- Evaluates opportunities for alignment with organizational capabilities and business policy, preparing executive summaries and technical solution documentation.
- Owns the proposed solution on assigned engagements and transitions the implementation to the delivery team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
- Vendor product, sales, and technology certifications.
- Some technical experience within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment.
- Basic experience as a Cloud Technical Architect or a similar role, designing and implementing cloud architectures for complex systems and applications.
- Basic experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with serverless computing platforms like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions.
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Understanding of project management methodologies.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong client engagement skills and technical consulting aptitude.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns (microservices, serverless, containers, hybrid cloud).
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies (VMs, storage, networking, load balancing).
- Understanding of cloud security principles (IAM, encryption, compliance frameworks like GDPR/PCI-DSS).
- Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Knowledge of database options including relational (RDS, Azure SQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor.
