Job Description
This role is for an Assistant Supplies Chain Management Officer at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI). The Institute is seeking six dedicated individuals on a temporary contract basis to support the efficient management of supplies and procurement processes.
Job Specification and Duties
The duties and responsibilities of these officers entail assisting in the following core functions:
Inspection, receipt, and issue of goods and services.
Safe storage of inventory to minimize breakages and loss of items held in stock.
Periodic and ad hoc stock taking.
Provision of secretariat services to ad hoc procurement committees.
Maintenance of the approved list of pre-qualified and registered suppliers for goods, services, and works.
Preparation of reports for low value procurements.
Safe custody of the gifts and gratuities register of the institute to enhance integrity in the operations of the Supply Chain function.
Person Specification and Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have the following qualifications:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Diploma in Supplies Management or Foundation Stage Diploma in Supply Chain Management from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or KISM or equivalent from a recognized institution.
