Role Purpose
This role is designed to support the Head of Transaction Banking in delivering and implementing the overall cash management solutions business strategy. The Assistant Relationship Manager will act as a liaison, working closely with Corporate, Business Banking, and Branch Banking sales teams to identify customer needs and successfully deliver Transaction Banking Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy
- Drive business development initiatives.
- Implement budgets to meet financial and other objectives.
- Participate actively in adapting the focus of business, staff, and delivery channels in line with bank strategy.
- Actively update and develop the deal pipeline for growth.
- Suggest potential revenue opportunities in existing and new markets.
- Assist in expanding the target market of TB products, liaising actively with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Sales and Relationship Management
- Sell Transaction Banking Solutions to customers in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
- Identify customer needs based on interaction and interface with Account Managers.
- Ensure a high cross-sell rate of Transaction Banking (TB) products through targeted awareness and training initiatives.
- Develop close and effective contacts with key clients.
- Guide Relationship Managers (RMs) with account strategies and account problem resolution.
- Foster a sound working environment to ensure strong alignment and cooperation within the TB team and with other key partners within the Bank.
Operational Efficiency & Reporting
- Ensure all processes associated with the delivery of the TB Services offering are streamlined and efficient.
- Ensure speedy testing and updating of systems.
- Assist in the migration of clients onto the electronic channel.
- Prepare monthly management reports.
- Prepare monthly sales updates and reports on estimated revenues and customer migrations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
Job Knowledge
- A fair understanding of Liquidity and working capital management.
- Thorough hands-on understanding and mastery of payments systems and payments modes, encompassing both cross-border and domestic transactions.
- A fair appreciation of foreign exchange products.
- A thorough and deep understanding of Banking and banking operations.
- A fair appreciation of project management principles.
- A good understanding of systems and system integrations.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required at a minimum.
Experience & Attributes
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Banking, preferably with products expertise or a strong banking operations background.
- Knowledge of banking products and operations, including deposits and other liability instruments, and trade finance products (considered an added advantage).
- Good organizational and time management skills are highly desirable.
- Must be a result-driven and effective team player.

- Understanding of country fund flows and regulatory requirements.
