Job Description
The University of Nairobi, a body corporate established under the Universities Act 2012 of the laws of Kenya and the University of Nairobi Charter, is the pioneer institution of University education in Kenya and the region.
This is a full-time, senior administrative position for an Assistant Registrar Grade 12 (Reference Code: AC/11/22/25). The role involves providing comprehensive administrative support across various critical functional areas of the University.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Registrar will be responsible for:
Providing administrative support in students and academic services.
Providing administrative support in human resource services.
Facilitating overall University Operations.
Performing any other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
Education: A Masters degree in Administration, Educational Administration, Education, Communication, Management, Public Administration, Project Planning, Industrial Relations, Conflict Resolution, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or any other related, relevant discipline.
Professional Qualification: CPS(K) or other relevant professional qualification.
Experience: Six (6) years of administrative experience, including at least three (3) years experience as Senior Administrative Assistant Grade 9/10, OR six (6) years of work experience in a position of comparable responsibility in the University, of which at least three (3) years must be at Grade 9/10.
Membership: Must be a member of a recognized professional body.
Skills: Demonstrated administrative skills including organization, responsibility, teamwork, communication, time management, multi-tasking, and customer care.
Technical: Computer literacy.
