Job Description
The Garissa County Public Service Board is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Occupational Therapist III (3 Posts), Reference Number: REF: GCPSB/HEALTH/2026/08/14.
Role Overview
The Assistant Occupational Therapist III is responsible for providing functional assessments, patient rehabilitation, and therapy interventions to improve daily living skills and quality of life for patients within Garissa County health facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assess patients' physical, mental, and functional performance to determine appropriate therapy interventions.
Implement occupational therapy plans to assist patients in developing, recovering, or maintaining daily living and work skills.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitative exercises, adaptive techniques, and home care strategies.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all treated patients.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
Be a Kenyan citizen;
Be a holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C and above or its equivalent; and
Be a holder of a Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
