The University of Nairobi is seeking to recruit an Assistant Executive Secretary Grade E (Reference AD/11/53/25(R&T) - 1 POST). This position is based in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be primarily tasked with providing secretarial and basic administration duties within the Office of the Dean of Student and Career Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main assignment includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing secretarial and basic administration duties in the Office of the Dean of Student and Career Services.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: KCSE C (Plain) or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. (Note: Those who were employed in the University before 2007 will be considered with the KCSE/KCE grades they already have).
- Professional Certifications (KNEC or equivalent): Must have completed the following subjects:
- Business English III
- Commerce II
- Secretarial Duties II
- Office Management III
- Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) OR Audio typing writing III
- Typewriting 50 wpm
- Technical Skills: Must hold certificates in and demonstrate the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, and database management packages.
- Experience: Three (3) years
experience as Senior Secretary Grade D.
- IT Knowledge: Knowledge of anti-virus tools.
