The Assistant Director Land Survey will coordinate and manage all land surveying and mapping activities within Isiolo County. The role involves directing strategic projects, managing boundary and cadastral mapping, and ensuring alignment with national standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Survey Services Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the provision of all survey services within the county. This includes road reserve identification, title surveys for land assets, and mapping to aid in boundary marking and registration of reserves.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all county surveying activities comply with national regulations, cadastral standards, topographic guidelines, and engineering survey requirements.
Systems & Technology Management: Manage surveying techniques, national land information management systems, and boundary survey processes.
Equipment & Resources: Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and calibration of advanced survey equipment and software.
Zoning Documentation: Maintain highly accurate records and documentation related to land use and zoning decisions.
Leadership: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and strategic direction for the land survey division.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geospatial Engineering, Technology in Geomatics, or Technology in Geoinformatics from a recognized institution.
A Master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Active registration and member in good standing of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK).
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive technical and professional experience in land surveying.
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
