This role involves teaching Agriculture and Biology at the Junior Secondary School level within the Yatima Outreach Organization. The teacher is responsible for ensuring comprehensive syllabus coverage, delivering high-quality instruction, and achieving effective learning outcomes. The role also requires coordination of co-curricular activities, maintaining student discipline, fostering strong relationships with parents/guardians, and actively promoting Christian values within the school environment.
Role Details
- Ensure coverage of the syllabus, quality of teaching and effectiveness of learning outcomes.
- Coordinate various co-curricular activities and school-based events in the area assigned.
- Enforce rules for behavior, behavior rectification, school policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
- Build and maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with parents, guardians, and sponsors.
- Promote Christ-likeness within the school through activities including but not limited to regular devotional and prayer sessions.
- Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Keep relevant school records to the required standards as per work demands.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Education, B.Ed Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya.
- 2 years’ work experience.
- Must be CBC-compliant (Competency-Based Curriculum).
- Must be a born again Christian.
- Must be TSC licensed (Teachers Service Commission).
- Competent in handling any combination of the highlighted subject combinations (Agriculture and Biology).
- Be conversant and compliant with Kenyan education systems, standards, trends, the Children’s Act, teachers’ code of ethics, child protection policies, regulations, rights, relevant government policy and legislation.
- An understanding of the social dynamics of the community and the general geographical area is a distinct advantage.
