This role involves providing essential administrative and operational coordination support to ensure the efficient functioning of the project, including managing schedules, coordinating with international partners, handling logistics, and maintaining comprehensive records. The position is designated as K MR/ 5, based in Kisumu, with occasional travel to Nairobi required.
Duties and Responsibilities
The coordinator will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Manage calendars, meetings, and calls.
- Coordinate communication and activities with U.S.-based collaborators.
- Anticipate project needs and ensure priorities are well-prepared.
- Organize local travel logistics and prepare comprehensive itineraries.
- Draft, edit, and manage correspondence, presentations, and reports.
- Support with academic writing tasks (considered a bonus skill).
- Maintain accurate records and organize documents.
- Utilize AI and digital tools effectively to streamline administrative tasks.
- Travel occasionally between Kisumu and Nairobi as required.
- Assist with social media and online presence activities.
- Coordinate scheduling, general communication, and travel arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Commerce Degree in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
- Excellent communication skills are mandatory.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrated openness to adopting AI and new digital tools.
- Must be discreet, reliable, and adaptable.
- Experience in academic writing or social media management is beneficial.
