This role offers current university students an opportunity to gain practical professional experience within Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks company. Diageo is a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of the industry. This is a fixed, three-month internship program designed to immerse interns in the corporate environment and allow them to apply their academic knowledge.
Eligibility and Duration
This internship is for a fixed period of three months without the possibility of extension.
- Only students currently in their 3rd or final year can apply for these opportunities. They should plan to continue their education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation.
- Sadly, candidates who finished their education and have spent over a year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration. If you apply, your application will automatically be declined.
- You must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent at a public or accredited private academic institution.
- You must be on break/holiday from school during the internship period.
Skills and Qualities Needed (What you will need)
A successful intern has a desire to gain professional experience and is exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities.
- Communication: Strong listening skills, oral and written communication skills, the ability to understand instructions, and not being afraid to ask questions are crucial for a productive internship.
- Technical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications is needed.
- Professional Attributes: Must be very articulate with fluent English. You should be patient, demonstrate attention to detail, be a fast learner, committed, able to understand directions, and capable of working quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Mindset: Keen to learn about the markets and possess a high attention to detail and pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.
- Commitment: A dedication to completing the full 3-month internship program is mandatory.
Mandatory Documentation Requirements
If selected, the following mandatory documentation will be required:
- Letter from your institution indicating you are a student there and/or require an internship as part of the requirement for course completion.
- Personal Accident insurance cover for the duration of the internship.
- Bank account details.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
- NSSF and SHA numbers.
