Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company, built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of our industry. This contractual internship program offers Accounting Interns a fixed period of three months in Nairobi, designed to provide students in the final stages of their university education with professional experience in the Finance/Accounting domain.
Eligibility for the Internship Program
- Student Status: Only students in their 3rd or final year can apply for these opportunities.
- Educational Planning: Applicants should plan to continue their education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation.
- Time Since Graduation: Candidates who finished their education and have spent over a year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration. If you apply, your application will automatically be declined.
- Institution: Must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a public or accredited private academic institution.
- Internship Period: You must be on break/holiday from school during the internship period.
- Commitment: Dedication to completing the three-month internship program is required, as the internship is for a fixed period without extension.
Skills and Attributes Needed (What you will need)
A successful intern has a desire to gain professional experience and is exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities. Requirements include:
- Communication: Strong listening skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to understand instructions, as well as not being afraid to ask questions will ensure a productive internship.
- Technical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications is needed.
- Personal Attributes: Must be very articulate with fluent English, patient, committed, a fast learner, able to understand directions, and capable of working quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Detail Orientation: High attention to detail and pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.
- Market Interest: Keen to learn about the markets.
Mandatory Documentation Requirements
If selected, the following documents must be provided:
- Letter from your institution indicating you are a student there and/or require internship as part of requirement for course completion.
- Personal Accident insurance cover for the duration of the internship.
- Bank account details.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
- NSSF and SHA numbers.
Critical Application Details
- Area of Study: When completing your application, please specify your current area of study or degree title under the education or current job experience sections.
