Accountant Officer II

Rift Valley Technical Training Institute is seeking a qualified Accountant Officer II to manage revenue, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and handle general accounting operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
• Manage institution revenue and prepare general ledger postings and statements.
• Enter key financial transaction data into the database daily.
• Extract monthly fee balances and vote head summaries.
• Assist in preparing budget estimates and anticipated income by vote head.
• Ensure all accountable documents are properly filed and easily retrievable for audit purposes.
• Prepare financial management reports, verify invoices, undertake monthly bank reconciliations, and reconcile debtors and creditors registers.
• Verify payment vouchers and supporting documents before payment.
• Prepare payroll and statutory deductions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Pass in Part III of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination OR Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), or Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reporting in conformity with IPSAS.
• Proven accounting experience of at least 5 years, preferably in accounts receivable.
• Proficiency in accounting software packages.
• Basic skills in operating standard office equipment.
• Above the age of 30 years.
