Job Description
Role Overview
This consultancy provides senior technical expertise and strategic leadership for the CDC–UNICEF cooperative agreement, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s global immunization strategy and advancing high-level engagement with CDC and other relevant partners. The role will provide strategic direction, critical guidance, and decision-making leadership across programme monitoring, donor engagement, financial oversight, and reporting. The consultant will act as the central coordination point between CDC, UNICEF technical teams, and global partners, ensuring accountability, visibility of results, and alignment with partnership objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Lead and coordinate the management of the CDC cooperative agreement, including donor engagement, programme monitoring, and reporting.
Provide strategic direction, critical guidance, and decision-making leadership across programme monitoring, donor engagement, financial oversight, and reporting.
Serve as the central coordination point between CDC, UNICEF technical teams, and global partners.
Ensure accountability, visibility of results, and alignment with partnership objectives.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Advanced university degree in public health, international development, social sciences, public policy, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Accepted Disciplines: Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, or related field.
Work Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in immunization programme management, outbreak preparedness and response, pandemic preparedness, implementation monitoring, evidence generation, and disease prevention.
Technical Skills:
Strong analytical and data systems experience
Knowledge of immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs)
Strong writing and communication skills
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
Desirables: Experience working with UNICEF, WHO, CDC, or Gavi.
